2015 Disney Movies

It’s a new year! Which means; new movies, new adventures, new loves, and many new memories to be made. Let’s take a peek into what Disney has in store for us in 2015! I hope to be able to bring you more special insider information and to meet some of the cast and directors from this years amazing line up. What movies are you most excited for this year?

January 23, 2015 – Strange Magic (Touchstone Pictures / Lucasfilm)
#StrangeMagic

Strange Magic

“Strange Magic,” a new animated film from Lucasfilm Ltd., is a madcap fairy tale musical inspired by “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” Popular songs from the past six decades help tell the tale of a colorful cast of goblins, elves, fairies and imps, and their hilarious misadventures sparked by the battle over a powerful potion. I have always loved seeing live productions of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ as a kid and I am very curious to see how this was weaved into the storyline.

February 20, 2015 – McFarland, USA (Walt Disney Studios)
#McFarlandUSA

McFarlandUSA

MacFarland, USA is based on a true story from 1987. Disney’s “McFarland, USA” follows novice runners from McFarland, an economically challenged town in California’s farm-rich Central Valley, as they give their all to build a cross- country team under the direction of Coach Jim White (Kevin Costner), a newcomer to their predominantly Latino high school.

March 13, 2015 – Cinderella (Walt Disney Studios)
#Cinderella

Cinderella

Cinderella is one of my favorite Disney Princesses and the one I can most relate to, I am very much looking forward to seeing this movie! Coming to the big screen as a live-action feature inspired by the classic fairy tale, bringing to life the timeless images from the studio’s 1950 animated masterpiece as fully-realized characters in a visually-dazzling spectacle for a whole new generation to cherish and enjoy.

Disney’s Big Hero 6 is Here!

Disney’s Big Hero 6 is Here!

By Mindy Marzec

What do you get when you combine classic Disney animation with the action-adventure of live action Marvel super hero movies? The result is the stunning “Big Hero 6,” the  54th animated feature from Walt Disney Animation Studios.

“Big Hero 6” is set in the futuristic fantasy world of San Fransokyo, where young robotics prodigy Hiro Hamada (voiced by Ryan Potter) befriends a large inflatable robot, Baymax (voiced by Scott Adsit). Baymax was programmed to be helpful and compassionate, but when evil befalls the city, Hiro must help Baymax become an all-powerful fighting machine. They team up with Hiro’s friends GoGo Tomago (voiced by Jamie Chung), Wasabi (voiced by Damon Wayans Jr.), Honey Lemon (voiced by Genesis Rodriguez), and Fred (voiced by T.J. Miller) and become the high-tech super hero team Big Hero 6.

BIG HERO 6

The movie is based on the Marvel comic of the same name, but that’s pretty much where the similarities end. Marvel gave Disney their blessing to use the name and create their own story and universe, which is exactly what Disney did. “Big Hero 6” is certainly packed with action, but it also has that Disney heart and soul we come to expect. And I don’t want to give away spoilers, but yes, this one is a tear jerker so pack some tissues (think “Dumbo” and “Bambi” level heart-string-pulling). While we’ve come to expect tragedy in Disney movies, this one is a little different. The audience goes on an emotional journey with Hiro as we watch him deal with grief and then process those feelings and emotions throughout the film. It’s quite touching and groundbreaking for an animated movie. As the kids would say, it gave me “all the feels.”

Good-Bye Summertime Disney, Hello Halloween Time Disney!

Good-Bye Summertime Disney, Hello Halloween Time Disney!

By Erin

Summertime has come to an end at the happiest place on earth. Yesterday marked the beginning of Halloween Time at Disneyland Resort. Before we say goodbye though, here are some highlights from the summer at Disney.

Disney Summertime  I love watching the horses at Disneyland. They each have such unique personalities. So fun and silly. 🙂

Disney Horse

Such a beautiful view. The castle, the matterhorn and this super adorable horse taking a second to pose for ‘Horsing Around In LA’ and all of his fans while he is working hard at his job.

Disney Summer

Big Thunder Mountain Ranch was all decked out in its patriotic best for the summer holidays. Notice Walt Disney there? Even he had a love for horses! 😉
