Lego City: Deep Sea Adventure Submarine Ride Takes its Maiden Voyage!

*We were given tickets to go experience the new ride for purposes of this post. All thoughts and opinions remain our own!*

It’s summertime and the weather is heating up.  When I think warmer weather, I think of going to the beach to snorkel or SCUBA dive to cool off and see the amazing sea-life.  Many families don’t have the option to go to the ocean to see fish and sharks but thanks to Legoland, California, you can see sea-life, not only at their Sealife Aquarium, you can take a submarine ride on the all new Deep Sea Adventure!  My family was invited to the grand opening of the newest ride at Legoland California and we were IMPRESSED!

LEGO® champagne bottles were popping with streamers and the crowd of special guests cheered as the submarines were christened for the newest ride at LEGOLAND® California Resort: LEGO® City: Deep Sea Adventure submarine ride!

This interactive ride features more than 2,000 sea animals including several species of sharks, rays and other tropical fish amid new LEGO® models all themed around a ship’s sunken treasure! Get ready for a sweet underwater adventure, you won’t want to miss this new attraction at Legoland!

Five species of sharks and several species of rays including a southern stingray with a five-foot wing span, are among the sea animals that can be seen.

The 8 new Deep Sea Adventure submarines hold up to 12 people at a time so the line moves quickly.  When I say quick, I mean the ride never actually stops unless a wheel-chair is needing to get in.  Be careful and duck when you step down into the submarine, the roof is a little low on the door.

Each passenger on the ride sits in front of an inter-active screen in which you tally hidden treasures that you see on the ride.  Some of the sea-life that we saw included sharks, rays, eels and variety of LIVE fish.  Of course there were the fun Lego divers and treasures that the sea-life enjoyed making their home.

While we didn’t get wet on the ride to cool off, we did enjoy the Legoland Waterpark after enjoying several of the rides in the park. For a small extra cost, you can spend your day enjoying both of the parks.  Want more? The SEA LIFE Aquarium to the left of the Legoland gates has interactive exhibits and crafts for the kids!

Cool off on Splash Battle! Aim your cannon and take your best watery shot at spectators and other riders!

While all of this seems like a lot for one day, it can be overwhelming.  What do I suggest?  Stay at one of the Legoland hotels and enjoy a couple days and nights at the parks.  Are you local to Southern California?  The annual passes are a great deal!  Check out their website for more information on hours and prices. Awesome awaits!
