Marvel’s Ant-Man World Premiere Experience

Marvel’s Ant-Man World Premiere Experience

By Erin

* I attended the premiere of Ant-Man as a guest of Disney*
The next chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has made its grand debut in style, in Hollywood at the Dolby Theater. Last Monday,“Ant-Man” was brought to the big screen for the first time by Marvel Studios. I had the pleasure to attend this special, Red-Carpet World Premiere! Ant-Man is equipped with the amazing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength. The master thief, Scott Lang must embrace his inner super-hero as he and his new found mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, attempt to protect the secret behind this spectacular Ant-Man suit from evil doers looking to use this high-tech for all the wrong reasons. A plan must be put in place to pull off a heist that will save the world. Lang and Scott are up for the challenge, but can they pull it off? You will have to see the movie for yourself when it comes out July 17th to see if they can, but for now, take a look at all the excitement from the Premiere of Ant-Man! 😉

For any red carpet event, you have to look your best right? I made a trip over to Blo, in Beverly Hills to get a blow-out, then off to my friend’s house to finish getting ready for the fun night ahead!

Then it was off to the Dolby Theater, in Hollywood, CA!

Looking down the Red Carpet, and what else did I see? Inside Out was saying hello as well! 😉

I was thrilled to see that THE Ant-Man suit was here for all to see up close and personal! Too bad I wasn’t able to actually try it on! Oh well…. maybe next time?

Then it was time to walk into the theater to find our seats in the second row in the orchestra section, up front and center!

Before entering though, there was this awesome Ant-Man, Ant Farm! What would the Ant-Man Premiere be without some ants, right?

We took our seats, then had the pleasure to watch Marvel TV cover the rest of the red carpet events as all of
Marvel’s “Ant-Man” stars; Paul Rudd as Scott Lang aka Ant-Man, Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne, Corey Stoll as Darren Cross aka Yellowjacket, Bobby Cannavale as Paxton, Michael Peña as Luis, Judy Greer as Maggie, Tip “Ti” Harris as Dave, David Dastmalchian as Kurt, Wood Harris as Gale, Jordi Mollà as Castillo and Michael Douglas as Hank Pym made their apperances.

Teen Beach 2 is Out on DVD + Cool Bonus Features! #TeenBeach2Event

Teen Beach 2 is Out on DVD + Cool Bonus Features!

By Erin

Disney Channel’s Teen Beach 2 movie is out on DVD!  Did you tune in on Friday to watch all the fun? If not, or even if you did, it’s already out on DVD for you to enjoy over and over and over again! Wether you love it for the songs, the dances, or the friendships, you have to admit that there are some great messages for kids and families intertwined into it. The characters in the movie model healthy/supportive friendships, show strong examples of female lead characters and encourage kids/tweens to believe in themselves. Teen Beach 2 is an amazing follow-up to the Teen Beach Movie. Jam packed with some pretty awesome dance and song numbers, these songs are meant to get stuck in your head, and they will. I saw the movie for the first time, three weeks ago during the Inside Out event and have been singing the songs ever since. You won’t want to miss the cool bonus features either, like CheeChee (Chrissie Fit) and Seacat’s (Jordan Fisherversion of Falling For Ya, and the making of it (which you can see below). So go get the DVD, which includes all of the not to be missed fun bonus footage and can be purchased here. You can also check out my interview with Chrissie and Jordan here. Or that time they gave us 25 bloggers a dance lesson… 😉

Heartfelt Messages:

Teen Beach 2 is filled with some amazing messages such as–

  • Believe in yourself — Brady is really into making these cool, one-of-a-kind surfboards, but he hides it at first because he thinks that Mack won’t really “get it” since her focus is on getting into college.
  • Mack helps Lela realize that she can be anyone she wants to as long as she is true to herself.
  • Female Empowerment–Mack and Lela are both strong female characters who are empowered, driven and supportive of one another, which is something I’m very happy that young viewers will get to see.
  • When Lela visits the modern world, she quickly realizes she loves everything about it, especially being able to be in control of her own choices instead of being bound by the movie-world.
  • Mack is very driven, focused on her love for oceanography and is set on paving her future by going to college.

  • Follow Your Destiny–Lela would love nothing more than to stay in the modern world, but eventually realizes she needs to return to “Wet Side Story.” She creates her own destiny and becomes the strong, independent woman she’s aspired to be.
  • Importance of Friendship–Tanner really steps up and helps Brady push beyond his comfort zone and share his surfboard making passion with Mack.
  • Mack and Lela are supportive of one another and a great example of positive friendship between girls.
  • All the characters in “Wet Side Story” risk fixing everything going on in their movie world to help Mack and Brady get their relationship back on track.

Teen beach 2 Dance

Music & Dance:

  •  The music and dance numbers are really fun in this movie, and they can be enjoyed by kids and parents alike. Families can enjoy learning the dance numbers and singing along together.

The Perfect Movie Night Movie

  • Teen Beach 2 is a great movie night pick because of its multigenerational appeal, lighthearted humor, and great story that the entire family can enjoy together. It’s a great movie to have a party for, check this out for some awesome Teen Beach 2 Party Ideas! 😉

Bonus Features:

The bonus footage on the DVD includes the cast at dance rehearsals, discussing their favorite songs and favorite moments from the movie. Exciting, new contemporary and retro music with dance numbers choreographed by Christopher Scott (Dancing with the Stars). Come join Ross Lynch, Maia Mitchell and the rest of the cast as they learn some of the crazy steps for the movie. Take a look into how they put these moves into the songs Best Summer Ever, Gotta Be Me, Falling For Ya, and That’s How We Do.

You will love watching these bonus features. I loved it because you really get to see their personalities shine through, what it was like filming on set, and how much fun they had making the movie. You are made to feel like you are actually on the set with them. You can totally tell they had a blast filming, and I had a total blast just watching all the awesomeness happen!

Teen Beach 2 is available on DVD now! You won’t want to miss all the action and fun of the bonus features either! Purchase your cope of it here. Below is a clip of the “Falling For Ya” Rehearsal that is part of the bonus footage. <3

Synopsis:

Dive in and rock out with the hottest surf sequel under the sun! Now that summer’s over and school has begun, Brady (Ross Lynch) and Mack’s (Maia Mitchell) relationship seems headed for a wipeout — until Lela, Tanner and the “Wet Side Story” kids show up! Dazzled by the novelty and variety of the modern world, Lela wants to stay, but the real world and the “reel” world just don’t mix. Can Mack and Brady find the magic to get the kids home and get their own romance back on track before it’s too late? Packed with electrifying song & dance numbers and hilarious fish-out-of-water wackiness, TEEN BEACH 2 is “wow-abunga” fun for everyone!

Kyle MacLachlan as Dad in Inside Out #InsideOutEvent

Kyle MacLachlan as Dad in Inside Out

By Erin

*I attended a special interview with Kyle MacLachlan as a guest of Disney as part of the #InsideOutEvent! All thoughts and opinions remain my own*

Kyle MacLachlan plays the voice of “Dad” in the new major emotion picture Inside Out. You might remember him from beloved shows such as Sex and the City , where he played Trey, Charlotte’s first husband or from How I Met Your Mother, where he played The Captain. The other week during all of the Inside Out festivities we were able to get inside his head and what he thinks of the film. Disney Pixar’s Inside Out was the perfect film to open this past Father’s Day weekend don’t you think? All of the frustrations and challenges a parent faces while their child grows up in front of their eyes is summed up pretty well. It is sure to be an emotional roller coaster for a lot of families as well as the perfect opportunity to bond and bring up some emotional topics about feelings.

Inside-Out-Dad

Onto our conversation with Kyle! We jumped right into the good stuff and asked him, What identities would control you?

Kyle replied with, “What would they be, controlling me?  It would be, Wino would be one.  He controls me after 6.  I don’t know if Pete Doctor and Jonas and those guys thought of that one, and it maybe not appropriate for Riley, for that maybe.  Coffee would be another one. They’re pretty much the same.  Don’t you think? I would put underneath that Silliness, just because that’s just kind of my nature. The rest of them would be secondary.”

Next he told us about being a Dad and how much of the character he was able to bring on-screen because this was kind of normal character departure from what he normally plays. “It was fun to do this guy, being a Dad myself, I was able to bring a little bit of my relationship with my son in and it was encouraged actually by Pete and Jonas and Ronnie, they wanted my personality so I was happy to try different things.  Some worked, most didn’t but it’s always good to throw them out there just as ideas. But the process is strange because you’re sitting with a Microphone and you don’t have anything visually to work off  of and Pete would feed me all the information of what was happening in the scene and I would read it and go into my head and play it out in my head so it was like I was shooting my own little Movie as I was saying the words; walking into the room, sitting down on the edge of the bed and saying things got a little hand, you start asking questions like, would I say that from the doorway or would I knock? You begin to put it together in your brain; let me try it this way and then let me try it starting it here.” He found the process rather fascinating.

“Most people I think would be bored to tears but I love just how to interpret those words, in the most interesting way, hopefully that’s the difference between doing it in front of the camera where you’re actually just walking through it and you can feel it yourself to just playing it out in your head as you go.”

Kyle’s son will be 7 next month, has he seen the movie yet?

He’s seen the trailers on it like the Dinner scene. “He loved the Dinner Scene.  He says, the foot is down, the foot.  He loves that part. He’s seen a couple moments but, I’ll take him to see it at some point this summer.” This was followed by asking if he feels like he can see the emotions in his son’s head?

“I totally see it in him. He’s coming up on 7 so they’re still trying to figure out how they all work together.  Joy is the dominant one for him as well but he can bring in some disgust with attitude, which I’m sure he’s picked up at school.  He definitely, has this silly gene from me. That comes from my Grandmother in fact. You begin to see and recognize, not only in him but in other people as well. I was doing an interview earlier where the Writer said, why don’t you take your hand off the Anger button to his son. I was like OK, so maybe this will enter our consciousness in a whole different way.”

WHAT ARE THEY THINKING? -- Pixar Animation Studios takes audiences inside the mind of 11-year-old Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Guided by her five Emotions - Joy (voice of Amy Poehler), Sadness (voice of Phyllis Smith), Fear (voice of Bill Hader), Disgust (voice of Mindy Kaling) and Anger (voice of Lewis Black) - Riley struggles to adjust, and when Fear, Disgust and Anger are left in control, even a simple family dinner takes an unexpected turn. Also featuring the voices of Diane Lane as Mom, Kaitlyn Dias as Riley and Kyle MacLachlan as Dad, Disney•Pixar's "Inside Out" opens in theaters nationwide June 19, 2015. ©2014 Disney•Pixar. We a were all very curious to find out what the difference between Voice Acting and Standard Acting was like?  Could you relax in Voice Acting?

He told us, “Going to work as an Actor, they sort of tell you what time, they pick you up sometimes, they feed you, they tell you what to wear.  They tell you what to say.  They tell you where to stand.  They tell you when to stop, they tell you when to go.  They tell you where to sit and you’re waiting.  They tell you where to eat lunch.  So it’s pretty nice not to have to do a whole lot. Voice Acting is nice because, there’s not a Camera that you have to be aware of necessarily. Although they did film all of the stuff that I was doing just to capture the physical gestures and mannerisms and a little bit to incorporate I think in the role or in the drawings. But it’s different, challenging, because as I said earlier, I run the scene in my head so I’m recreating, cause I don’t see all the stuff.  It’s sort of described, he’s at the door, he’s at the bed.  I’m like, when does he get there?  How does that work and when is his line when you reach out and touch your hair, would you like pat our hand?  All that is running in my head as I’m doing it, trying to recreate it up here.  And that takes–  You get exhausted doing that actually.  But there’s only 2 hour sessions so that was OK, yeah.”
