Are you ready for the start of summer? I sure am! Memorial Day is unofficially the start of the summer season, and I am ready for all things fun in the sun to start. This includes all those refreshing summer drinks. Where’s the best place to stock up for all of these summer gatherings and parties? BevMo of course, and you will want to stock up on all of your favorites for Memorial Day to kick off summer right! Here are some of my picks to enjoy, shopping for beverages should be as much fun as drinking them!

Having a great selection of drinks and snacks to choose from can really make for a great party and makes everyone feel welcome and ready to have a great time!  You can shop in stores, shop online and pick up in store in one hour, or have products delivered within one hour (select stores), have products delivered (at a later time), or have products shipped. Did you know BevMo! delivers!  I did not know that until recently. Planning a big party? They have free delivery on all orders over $500! They offer thousands of wine, beer, and spirits as well as complementary items that enhances all drinking occasions and will have you ready for your Memorial Day Party.

Here is some of the loot I picked up at my local BevMo! As you can see, there is a nice selection of both drinks and snacks that they offer. The fruit was used to make some tasty Berry Vodka Tonic drinks. BevMo! is the number one specialty beverage retailer on the West Coast. You’ll find BevMo! stores located throughout California, Arizona, Washington and of course on-line.

If you’re looking for a light and refreshing drink for your Memorial Day party then you might want to try this Berry Vodka Tonic drink. It’s so easy to make too! Here’s what you need to make it:

  • 1 handful of blueberries
  • 3 strawberries
  • 4 0z Fever-Tree Tonic Water
  • 1.5 oz Tito’s Vodka
  • Ice.

1. Add 3 sliced strawberries and the blueberries into a glass. Muddle slightly to release the strawberry and blueberry juices.

2. Add one shot of vodka which is around 1.5 ounces.

3. Fill glass with ice and top off with tonic water.

4. To make it extra fancy you can garnish the rim with a strawberry. You could also sugar the rim at the beginning too, if you want a really pretty looking drink and to add a little more sweetness.

There are also lots of other drinks you can choose from too. Beer, wine, liquor, mixers; BevMo! has it all!

Who’s ready to kick off Memorial Day and start off summer, right? Maybe with a nice cold Firestone Walker 805 from BevMo? Cheers!

AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR

AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR

By Erin

From Marvel Studios comes the eagerly anticipated “Avengers: Infinity War,” which is the third installment in the “Avengers” franchise and the 19th Marvel Studios film to date. The release also marks the 10-year anniversary of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which began with the release of “Iron Man” in 2008.“Avengers: Infinity War” picks up as the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, but a dangerous menace has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, Thanos will stop at nothing to collect all six Infinity Stones in his quest to wield unimaginable power and his twisted will on all of humanity.

This past Sunday the press junket for the Avengers: Infinity War took place in Beverly Hills. It was way different from any other junket any of us had ever been to before. The crowd was abuzz and filled with wonder as there were 20 celebrities on the list of appearing talent, but no set up for where everyone would be sitting. Just a big black curtain with the Avengers logo on it. Were they going to make a grand appearance by flying down from the ceiling or through the big black curtain? So many possibilities, Marvel always keeps you guessing!

If you’ve seen Thor: Ragnarok, then you know who the Grandmaster is, Jeff Goldblum. This was a pleasant surprise as this was not something we were told about.  In bingo type fashion, he began to randomly choose ping-pong balls with a guest’s name or category on it. As we had less than an hour, this was a great way to make sure everyone would have a chance to speak. There were lots of questions, but not many real answers to make a long story short. Here’s all who were in attendance.

Dave Bautista (“Drax”)

Paul Bettany (“Vision”)

Chadwick Boseman (“T’Challa / Black Panther”)

Josh Brolin (“Thanos”)

Don Cheadle (“James Rhodes / War Machine”)

Benedict Cumberbatch (“Dr Stephen Strange”)

Robert Downey Jr. (“Tony Stark / Iron Man”)

Winston Duke (“M’Baku”)

Danai Gurira (“Okoye”)

Chris Hemsworth (“Thor”)

Tom Hiddleston “Loki”)

 Holland (“Peter Parker / Spider-Man”)

Scarlett Johansson (“Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow”)

Pom Klementieff (“Mantis”)

Anthony Mackie (“Sam Wilson / Falcon”)

Elizabeth Olsen (“Wanda Maximoff / Scarlett Witch”)

Chris Pratt (“Peter Quill / Star-Lord”)

Mark Ruffalo (“Bruce Banner / The Hulk”)

Zoe Saldana (“Gamora”)

Sebastian Stan (“Bucky Barnes / Winter Soldier”)

Letitia Wright (“Shuri”)

Director Anthony Russo

Director Joe Russo

 Producer Kevin Feige

We learned that they like bass fishing and there were some interesting fashion questions, but there were no spoilers, comments or information given out about the movie at all. The cast all commented that they knew nothing about the script and that they have never seen it.

Here is some fun info about the film though (no spoilers though of course) from the notes from the film!

*”Avengers: Infinity War” has been 10 years in the making, and putting together the greatest ensemble of Super Hero characters was the job of directors Anthony and Joe Russo, who were tapped by Kevin Feige to helm the studios’ biggest film to date

*“The story of ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ is the result of everything we’ve ever done to this point,” said Kevin Feige. “It is the unprecedented culmination of a series of storylines interlinked together, which had never been done before.”

*In the cosmos, the most powerful items one can possess are the Infinity Stones. Thanos learns of the stones and believes if he can secure all six, he can rule the universe. “The Infinity Stones represent the six different elements of the universe that create all life and power the universe,” explains Joe Russo. “The Infinity Stones in the movie represent the only way for Thanos to bring balance to the universe on the grand and cosmic scale he envisions in a permanent fashion.”

*With the Infinity Gauntlet securely on his left hand, Thanos begins his quest to fill the gauntlet with the stones, and thus begins the Avengers’ urgent mission to stop him by any means—and at any cost.

Top Eats at Knott’s Boysenberry Festival!

By Erin

*We were invited as media to come check out this year’s Boysenberry Festival, all thoughts and opinions remain my own!*

It’s that time again! The tastiest time of the year at Knott’s! The Boysenberry Festival is an annual food-inspired event that celebrates the park’s historic roots by highlighting the little berry that started it all, the boysenberry. This year’s festival will feature over 75 new and returning boysenberry-inspired creations crafted by the Knott’s culinary team. Guests can indulge in a tantalizing lineup of dishes ranging from savory foods with a boysenberry twist to refreshingly sweet and tangy drinks and one-of-a-kind specialty desserts that can only be found at Knott’s Berry Farm during this time of year. In addition to the tasty treats, the Knott’s Boysenberry Festival offers a wide-selection of daily entertainment, live music and fun activities for everyone to enjoy. This year’s festival runs daily through April 8th. You will have a berry good time enjoying all the berry delights!

The historic boysenberry is a cross between a loganberry, red raspberry and blackberry and is named after its originator Rudolf Boysen. The Knott family was the first to successfully harvest and sell the boysenberry on the land that is now known as Knott’s Berry Farm. Some of the tastiest and most unique food items are rolled out exclusively during the Knott’s Boysenberry Festival.

One of the BEST ways to enjoy the festival is to purchase one of these delicious tasting cards. This will allow you to  indulge in a variety of new and returning food items during the festival by purchasing a tasting card priced at $30 which offers 8 of the new food options per card. Guests can select any 8 items of their choice. Returning and other signature boysenberry items will be available for purchase a la carte. Tasting cards are available at Knotts.com or in the theme park.

Slow Cooked Boysenberry Short Rib

The slow cooked boysenberry short ribs are first on the tasting card. Juicy meat is smothered in boysenberry hoisin sauce served over butter basmati rice and complete with chopped green onions will leave you wanting more!
