It’s that time of year again! Knott’s Scary Farm is here, the most haunting Halloween event in Southern California, returns with frightening scares and innovative thrills for its 45th season. The fully transformed park will feature 13 uniquely haunted mazes and attractions, including the return of Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, for her last performance as she bids farewell to the Scary Farm crowds with an all-new show. Knott’s Scary Farm is here on select nights through October 31st. This year’s experience has all the ingredients of a truly terrifying nightmare, but unlike most dreams, Knott’s Scary Farm is a nightmare you can’t wake up from. What are you waiting for? Come join in on this nightmare you won’t soon forget!

The new season will bring unnerving nightmares to life as it debuts three all-new, unique haunted attractions, each introducing new menacing storylines and heinous never-before- seen characters.

Dark Ride (New for 2017)

Guests will journey through an abandoned carnival ride where cruel characters still linger in the shadows in Dark Ride, Knott’s Scary Farm’s newest maze. The carnival attraction has become a refuge for sideshow freaks and now those shunned performers have created an ominous world where they plan to unleash terror on those who enter. Dark Ride will lead brave visitors through a treacherous path and into the bowels of a long neglected attraction as sinister shadows and horrifying scenes cast darkness over the once pleasant ride.

Pumpkin Eater (New for 2017)

Daring guests will attempt to survive the wrath of the murderous 7-foot tall creature that haunts the old woods surrounding The Hollow in this year’s new maze, Pumpkin Eater. The notorious creature is on the prowl, hidden within the dark confines of the haunted town he once terrorized. To escape the sinister Pumpkin Eater’s wrath all who enter must go on a quest through the silent town of victims, face a cave of crawling insects and solve the labyrinth of thorns that blocks the only way out.

Trick-or-Treat: Lights Out (New for 2017)

Scared of the dark? Returning more sinister and twisted than ever before, guests are invited to step inside the Green Witch’s haunted home and venture through its dark pathways in Trick or Treat: Lights Out. Armed with only a faulty flashlight, brave visitors must face the terror of the Green Witch’s house completely in the dark. Featuring new state-of-the-art effects, unexpected scares and other eerie surprises, Trick-or- Treat is back to terrorize like never before.

Returning Favorites

Returning for the last and final year at Knott’s Scary Farm, Elvira is back with a new spectacular farewell show, Elvira, Mistress of the Dark. The exclusive performance will pay homage to the Queen of Halloween’s celebrated comedy-horror film, complete with musical numbers, dance and humor. Knott’s Scary Farm will be the exclusive home of Elvira for her final performance this Halloween season. You won’t want to miss this! It’s your last chance to see her.

Brick-or-Treat Party Nights at LEGOLAND!

The world of Legos comes to life at LEGOLAND in Carlsbad California. With hilarious shows and exciting attractions and rides there is plenty to do for the entire family. LEGOLAND is hosting its annual Brick-or-Treat party nights. This night time special event takes place on select evenings through the month of October. Guest (both big and small) can dress in costume and “Brick-or-treat” at stations throughout the Park, dance the night away, and show off their costumes at the annual Costume Contest. There are new additions to the spooktacular festivities. The Coast Cruise transforms into the spooky Ghost Cruise with new hauntings. Win Brick-or-Treat inspired Pop badges by completing fun filled activities throughout the park. There is so much to do for everyone.

When you first enter the park you want to make sure you head over to the wrist band distribution station to get your Brick-or-Treat wrist band. After you get your wrist band you can start exploring the park.

There are 12 treat stations set up throughout the park. From magazines to candy, each treat station hands out a variety of treats. Some of the treats are healthy snacks. Don’t worry if you forget to bring treat bags. Treat bags are provided for you.

As you make your way to each treat station there are spooky funny characters walking throughout the park some as tall as 12ft tall. The decorations of skeletons, ghost, and pumpkins are all fun to see. Of course it wouldn’t be Brick-or Treat without some Lego inspired decorations. Along your way you might run into a Fortune Teller Both with a real Fortune Teller inside or a troll who is incredibly funny.

One of my favorite things is to see are all the different costumes. The annual costume contest is held at Miniland Stage in Miniland. There are three categories Group, LEGO Theme, and Most Creative. There is also dancing and shows at this stage. Also be sure you don’t miss the Curse of the Hallowmeanie! There’s a spooky Halloween spirit haunting the castle! Or maybe its just Jester Funnybones, back from the grave with a sneaky plan up his skeleton sleeve? Get ready for kooky costumes, crazy characters and slapstick fun in this all new Brick-or-Treat show!

It’s well into the Halloween season and Dark Harbor is my absolute favorite Halloween event that I look forward to attending every year. If you have not already been yet this season, make sure to put this at the top of your list of fun things to do to get into the Halloween spirit. If you have been, then you have probably already experienced everything I love so much about this horror filled experience.

From the darkest depths of your deepest hidden fears, Dark Harbor is resurrected this fall with a cast of sinister spirits ready to deliver another season of blood curdling terror. Live your nightmares aboard the haunted Queen Mary and join a horrific cast of ghouls, spirits, and undead for an unforgettable, frighteningly authentic haunted experience.

Many of your favorite mazes will be returning with some fun twists.

Circus: Step right up, ladies and gentlemen, and experience the world’s most horrifying circus! Face your greatest fears as you wander through a terrifying tent of terror. Disorienting illusions, maniacal magic acts, and a cadre of sideshow freaks are certain to shock, stun, and startle even the bravest of souls.
Deadrise: Deadrise is a WWII escort ship that helped guide The Grey Ghost through enemy-infested waters. After a fatal crash during one of their dangerous voyages, Deadrise sank to the bottom and has been resting in her watery grave in the depths of the sea ever since. The wreckage of Deadrise has once again been called into service by the star of Dark Harbor, The Captain, to escort him and his armada of ghosts and monsters into a battle against the living to reclaim Dark Harbor
Soulmate: Gale has been haunting Dark Harbor looking for a soul mate since her mysterious disappearance. A meandering maze of mystery, Soulmate is where Graceful Gale lures potential suitors with her charm. Beware of her minions, whose job it is to chop up her suitors and reassemble them into the perfect man. Once you’ve been smitten by Graceful Gale, there is no escaping…even after death!e.
B340: What would drive a man to madness and murder? That’s the answer B340 attempts to answer as we take a schizophrenic sojourn into the psychotic mind of Samuel the Savage. Tight spaces, darkness mixed with flashing lights, and pulse-pounding noises would drive anyone to the brink of insanity. Beware the wrath of violence of Samuel the Savage and be careful not to lose your head or your mind!
Lullaby- Scary Mary: Do you want to play? Scary Mary is back and looking for playmates. Ring around the rosy and a pocket full of nightmares. The new Lullaby maze takes the visitor on a spine-tingling trip through the story of little Scary Mary. Gone, but certainly not forgotten, Mary is looking for playmates to join her on the other side of hell. Will you succumb to the youngster’s pranks and tricks, or will you escape with your soul intact? The little girl is very real, and you go past the indoor swimming pool…the exact spot where she died.
