Shine On With The Color Run!

By Erin

*Disclosure: I was offered complementary passes to The Color Run in my city, however I have always been a fan and supporter of The Color Run. All thoughts and opinions are my own.*

The Color Run

There’s a colorful, shiny, glittery event full of happiness coming to town that you won’t want to miss, The Color Run Shine Tour 2015. Not all that long ago, my good friend Melody and I decided to run in one to celebrate our birthdays as our birthdays are one day apart (Mine is May 3rd, hers is May 4th). We were birthday princesses, so of course we had to wear our tiaras. 😉  I love anything with a little bling, and if it’s something to get me outdoors and moving, then that’s even better! 😉

Wether you prefer to walk or run, The Color Run is bringing the community together to participate in the “Happiest 5k on the Planet”.  As the original paint race, they have created a completely new genre of running events that continues to grow exponentially. It is the single largest event series in the world, The Color Run has exploded with more than just color; with 300 events in 50+ countries in 2014.

So WHY should you enter?

I Love Color Runners

A Cure for the Monday Morning Blues: Horsing Around with Torero & Purple.

A Cure for the Monday Morning Blues: Horsing Around with Torero & Purple

By Erin

After the crazy heat this week, it was nice to relax a little bit with the horses in these “cooler” 80 degree temperatures over the weekend. They were just as happy as we were for a break from the nasty  100+ degree heat. Especially Purple as the heat made him very sick this past week and he has lost a lot of weight very quickly from it; he didn’t do well with the heat at all. Thankfully it has cooled down and he is getting back to his normal self and eating like a pig again. Now they are all playing, horsing around and back to their silly goofy selves. Torero really thinks he is something special (but I think I’d have to agree with him on that one). Is he funny enough to help cure those Monday Morning blues? What do you think?  😉

TopTorero

Top Torero attempting to be serious.

This is the REAL Torero though…. 😉 Signature  move: his tongue hanging out. He’s so silly.

Top Torero

He’s got a lot of personality! So fun to watch these guys.

Top 8 Must Have Tailgating Essentials from Sam’s Club! #SamsClubTailgating

Top 8 Must Have Tailgating Essentials from Sam’s Club!

By Erin

Thank you to Sam’s Club for sponsoring today’s post and helping me get ready for tailgating this Football Season.

Sams Club Tailgating

It’s football season, which means only one thing! Time for a tailgating party!  Whether you have been to a million tailgating parties or none, camped out outside the stadium before the game starts or  just thrown a viewing party from your own home to watch the big game, these tailgating essentials will help you make planning a cinch and be ready for the game in no time!

It doesn’t matter if I am watching an NFL , College, or High School Game, Sam’s Club has ALL of my tailgating essentials. Here are some of my tailgating favorites.

My Sams Club Tailgating Essentials

1.Portable Grill

Portable Stainless Steel Gas Gril with Cover

When out tailgating in a parking lot, the last thing you want to do is have to haul a huge heavy grill around. This makes having a portable grill an absolute essential! Tailgating from home?  Having a good portable grill can come in handy then too. At just under $100, here’s a perfect option for a portable gas grill of great quality that you can grab at Sam’s Club.

2. Good Food

Tailgating Food

You can’t have a party without good food.  A tailgating party is no different. Think hamburgers, hot dogs, dips like guacamole and cheese dips made with Kraft Velveeta and Hormel Chili No Beans are always a hit. You can’t go wrong with those. You will also want plenty of fruits and veggies, chips, hummus, and other tasty snacks to nibble on throughout the day and into the night. You will want to have plenty enough to keep everyone in your party happy, it will be a long day being there before the game as well as afterwards. Don’t forget the condiments for your burgers and dogs either!
