Knott’s Soak City

Knott’s Soak City

Another place to keep cool this summer in Southern California is Knott’s Soak City in Buena Park. Splash into summer at Knott’s Soak City Waterpark. Orange County’s largest outdoor water park is the perfect family destination to cool off during these hot and humid summer days with over 15-acres of aqua-tastic fun. Come on and splash into the fun!

In 2017, Knott’s Soak City expanded the water park to offer even more fun in the sun including a fully remodeled Longboard’s Grill restaurant, additional seating areas, and new spacious cabanas, plus two new water slide towers – Shore Break and The Wedge.

Shore Break towers over seven stories high and features six different thrilling water slide experiences. Four of the slides include Aqua-Launch chambers where guests wait anxiously as the floor drops out from underneath their feet sending them on high speed free fall down a 60 foot tall slide. Additionally, Shore Break offers two dueling tube slides which will have riders zipping through drops and turns. The newest family raft ride, the Wedge, takes up to six riders on an open-raft trip navigating through twists, turns and unexpected drops for some spills and thrills. Guests can look forward to another unforgettable summer season running through September 9th at Knott’s Soak City Waterpark.

One of my favorite things to go on at Soak City! Go for a float down Sunset River and let those cares just float away. On this classic lazy river you’ll meander down the 1,780 foot long waterway to a destination of pure relaxation and enjoy some delightful scenery along the way. Sunset River is a great way for everyone in the family to cool off and chill out.

Tidal Wave Bay is another one of my favorites to just float and relax. Holding 750,000 gallons of water, this state-of-the-art wave pool has enough room for everyone in the family to catch some awesome waves. Grab a tube and ride the waves or go freestyle and body-surf on your own. Tidal Wave Bay is surrounded by lounge chairs and cabanas so chilling out by the pool is fun too.

The Beach House offers three stories of hands-on water fun including interactive water guns, nozzles, faucets and other surprises. Every five minutes the water bucket unloads 500 gallons of water on anyone below! This is a fun place to just hang out at.

Even better news for Gold and Platinum Passholders! They can enter Knott’s Soak City Water Park starting at 9am on weekends through August 5.

We will be coming here often this summer to cool off, will you?

WHERE: Knott’s Soak City Waterpark – 8039 Beach Boulevard, Buena Park, CA 90620

Top Eats at Knott’s Boysenberry Festival!

Top Eats at Knott’s Boysenberry Festival!

By Erin

*We were invited as media to come check out this year’s Boysenberry Festival, all thoughts and opinions remain my own!*

It’s that time again! The tastiest time of the year at Knott’s! The Boysenberry Festival is an annual food-inspired event that celebrates the park’s historic roots by highlighting the little berry that started it all, the boysenberry. This year’s festival will feature over 75 new and returning boysenberry-inspired creations crafted by the Knott’s culinary team. Guests can indulge in a tantalizing lineup of dishes ranging from savory foods with a boysenberry twist to refreshingly sweet and tangy drinks and one-of-a-kind specialty desserts that can only be found at Knott’s Berry Farm during this time of year. In addition to the tasty treats, the Knott’s Boysenberry Festival offers a wide-selection of daily entertainment, live music and fun activities for everyone to enjoy. This year’s festival runs daily through April 8th. You will have a berry good time enjoying all the berry delights!

The historic boysenberry is a cross between a loganberry, red raspberry and blackberry and is named after its originator Rudolf Boysen. The Knott family was the first to successfully harvest and sell the boysenberry on the land that is now known as Knott’s Berry Farm. Some of the tastiest and most unique food items are rolled out exclusively during the Knott’s Boysenberry Festival.

One of the BEST ways to enjoy the festival is to purchase one of these delicious tasting cards. This will allow you to  indulge in a variety of new and returning food items during the festival by purchasing a tasting card priced at $30 which offers 8 of the new food options per card. Guests can select any 8 items of their choice. Returning and other signature boysenberry items will be available for purchase a la carte. Tasting cards are available at Knotts.com or in the theme park.

Slow Cooked Boysenberry Short Rib

The slow cooked boysenberry short ribs are first on the tasting card. Juicy meat is smothered in boysenberry hoisin sauce served over butter basmati rice and complete with chopped green onions will leave you wanting more!

O’FISHally Obsessed with Rubio’s Coastal Grill!

O’FISHally Obsessed with Rubio’s Coastal Grill!

By Erin

*I’ve partnered with Rubio’s Coastal Grill for this post. All thoughts and opinions remain my own!*

I love tacos. Specifically I really love fish tacos, so I am super thrilled to celebrate Fish Fridays with Rubio’s Coastal Grill! If you’re giving up meat for the lent season (or even if you’re not), then Rubio’s has you covered! With so many delicious seafood options, it is hard to decide what to get. My new favorite though is the new Wild Argentinian Shrimp tacos! I’m #oFISHallyObsessed with these shrimp tacos. Rubio’s® Restaurants is known for its delicious coastal cuisine and for popularizing the fish taco. Here’s a little more info about the amazing Wild Argentinian Red Shrimp.

Wild Argentinian Red Shrimp with smoked paprika and tomato butter

Two Taco Plate: Wild-Caught, grilled Argentinian Red Shrimp drizzled with Smoked Paprika & Tomato Butter topped with Hass avocado slices, salsa fresca, crisp cabbage and chipotle white sauce served on a warm stone-ground corn tortilla, garnished with lime. Two tacos are served with a side of “no-fried” pinto beans and chips. This is my favorite dish to order.

Bowl: Wild-Caught and Grilled Argentinian Red Shrimp drizzled with Smoked Paprika & Tomato Butter atop a bed of crisp cabbage, citrus rice and black beans topped with fresh Hass avocado slices, white sauce, salsa fresca and Crisp Stone-Ground Corn Tortilla Strips.

Some other delicious choices include: Grilled Seafood Bowls & Salads: Choice of seafood includes Pan-seared Shrimp, Wild Pacific Mahi Mahi and Wild Alaska Coho Salmon
