The Dove Project-National Dog Month

Celebrating National Dog Month at Mess Hall Market in Tustin!

By Erin

In celebration of National Dog Month, Tustin’s chef-driven food hall– Mess Hall Market at FLIGHT–is partnering with local dog rescues and vendors to celebrate National Dog Month with an exciting Adoption Event on Saturday, August 20th from 10AM-2PM! The Dove Project will be bringing adoptable dogs for guests to meet at Mess Hall! The Dove Project is a non-profit organization that focuses on ending the dog meat trade in South Korea. Animal rescuers in South Korea rescue dogs from slaughterhouses, meat farms, and high-kill shelters and are provided with shelter, food, veterinary care, and forever homes in the U.S. In addition to The Dove Project, local rescues No Stray Left Behind & Ozzie and Friends Rescue will also be on-site with adoption opportunities.

Mess Hall will also be partnering with local, dog-friendly vendors for guests to spoil their pooch for National Dog Month. Guests can shop from a selection of dog themed-vendors that include recycled toys, pet treats, CBD oils, clothing & eco-friendly pet supplies. Tiller Tugs uses recycled fire hoses to create quality dog toys while raising funds for local rescue groups. Nibbs Club creates pet treats that are made with healthy, quality ingredients and no preservatives. Wonderfull works to provide CBD products for pets to support natural healing. Molly McB & Company crafts pet collars, slings, walking bags, and more pet accessories. Lil’ Archie’s creates eco-friendly pet products, like compostable dog waste bags and Eco-Bandanas. All of these vendors will be onsite at Mess Hall for guests to pick up items just for their dogs!

In addition to meeting rescues and exploring what the vendors have to offer, guests can also participate in a Pet Portrait Painting Class. The class is open to beginners or experienced painters, and Master Artist, Alexis Rivera will guide guests through every step of creating a beautiful masterpiece of your pup! Tickets for the painting class can be purchased on her website at www.paintingandvino.com.

Mess Hall Market is a pet-friendly location that has hosted multiple dog adoption events where pets have been able to find their forever homes. During the event, Mess Hall will be open so guests can fuel up with their favorite food and drinks while meeting some amazing, adoptable dogs!

Day 23–Need to Get Rid Of….

Ok, so you might think this is silly coming from a girl who loves to spend hours upon endless hours at the barn, a place filled with dust and dirt galore…. but I CANNOT stand DIRT OR MUD!! I can tolerate it, but it does not mean I like it! I hate feeling all grimy and dirty. LOL I am constantly trying to wash off the dirt with the water from the horses waterers at the barn. Or from the hose by the wash racks.  Not to mention how all the dirt and dust flying around the barn (or anywhere else for that mater) makes me sneeze like no other?! Also, when the pups, especially Shiloh here, who LOVES to play in the mud/dirt, gets all nice and dirty like this… you know that’s always a blast to clean up after!!! 😉 So I would just love it if I were able to get rid of all dirt and mud that is floating around, not serving a real purpose other than to just be a nuisance and to make messes!
