A Day at the Races at Santa Anita Park

By: Erin

Disclosure:  I was invited out to Santa Anita Park by America’s Best Racing to experience a fun day of horse racing on opening day of the fall meet.  I received lunch and a gift bag.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Santa Anita Park is a beautiful race track in Southern California and the stands are packed with young and enthusiastic fans. Host of the Breeders Cup every November, I had the wonderful opportunity  not too long ago to spend a day at the track in Santa Anita to celebrate the opening day of the fall meet. Being the horse crazy gal that I am, I could not pass a chance up of spending a day with some amazing and powerful horses. I spend a lot of time with these guys after their racing days are over, but don’t get to see them in action as often as I would like during their racing careers.

Average crowds of over 50,000 come to be seen at events at race tracks all over the country. It’s not just about the sport, it’s a lifestyle. Folks will dress to the nines for the occasion with the latest fashions. Friends enjoy the afternoon together while making some new ones along the way. You can enjoy a drink and a nice meal while cheering on the horses and making memories to last a lifetime. Making a winning bet on some of the finest horses in America will have you floating on cloud 9, even if you only win a dollar or two.

Here is a little peek into our special day at the track!

Santa Anita Park New Look

The newly remodeled Santa Anita has a fresh new look inside in their bar and food court area. Very snazzy! Cheers! Just so you know, they make the BEST Mai Tai’s here! 😉 We all had them. I’d say it’s safe to say, that it was the drink of the day. There food was wonderful as well. I had a pasta bowl, and it was delicious.

LA County Fair: It’s Fair Time! Fair, Food, & Fun! + Ticket Giveaway

LA County Fair: It’s Fair Time! Fair, Food, & Fun! + Ticket Giveaway

By: Erin

Disclosure: I was invited out to the Media Food Preview Night at the LA County Fair and I was provided with a 4 pack of tickets with a parking pass to the LA County Fair. All opinions are my own and I’ve been going to this fair for as long as I can remember. 😉

It’s that time of year again folks, and you know what that means! It’s time for the LA County Fair. All the rides, games, shows, concerts,  new animal exhibits and of course one of the main attractions, the FOOD!! Every year, the food is a huge draw at the fair, and as usual will not disappoint .  You will see the oh so familiar fried food fare from longtime fair favorites such as Chicken Charlie’s, but the fair does have some Gluten-Free options, one of my personal favorites; Terri’s Berries and then there is the Los Angeles International Wine & Spirits Marketplace. The Fair started last Friday, August 30th and will run through September 29th. This past Wednesday I was invited out to a food preview for a sneak peek of what’s in store for this year’s UN-LEASH Your Inner Fair at the LA County Fair!

This year the fair has been turned into “Calitopia,” where you can keep cool with underwater and animal adventures like those found in San Diego, animation workshops and Enterprise exhibits from Hollywood as well as wine tasting experiences straight from Napa Valley.

FairFoodFun

NOW! Onto the Food and Giveaway that you are probably here for. 😉 You can find these food vendors while out and about at the fair this year as well as many others.

The FOOD!!

1. Chicken Charlie’s

Chicken CharliesHow about we start out with some deep fried fair food fun? Be the first to try out the new Krispy Kreme Hamburger ($9.95), the Krispy Kreme Sloppy Joes ($7.75), Totally Fried Bacon Wrapped Pickles ($6.75), Waffle Dogs, and if you want something on the lighter side, they do have chicken kabobs. Don’t forget dessert! They also have the Totally Fried Twinkie that you can get with either chocolate or strawberry sauce drizzled on top.

Chicken CharlieChicken Charlie himself was there, so I just had to stop and get a picture taken with this famous fair icon. 🙂

LACountyFAIRMy favorites would have to be the Krispy Kreme Sloppy Joe and the Bacon wrapped pickles! Yum!

533 Reasons To Go See Delivery Man This Fall!

533 Reasons To Go See Delivery Man This Fall!

By Erin

Disclosure: Disney Films invited me to be one of  533 exclusive bloggers to share the Delivery Man trailer, to join in the celebration of family. This is not a sponsored post and no financial compensation was received.  All thoughts and opinions remain  my own. #DeliveryManMovie

In the film Delivery Man, Vince Vaughn plays an affable underachiever looking for his purpose in life, when he finds out he’s fathered 533 children through anonymous donations to a fertility clinic from 20 years ago. That’s crazy in itself right? Now he must make the life changing decision on whether or not to come forward when 142 of them want to meet their biological father. Will he be able to make a difference in their lives?

DELIVERY MAN opens in theatres everywhere on November 22nd!

So why is this movie trailer so special you may be thinking and why should you care?

While the concept of the film is amusing, it’s also a really heartwarming look at what it means to be a family — no matter how unconventional. The definition of family has evolved over the years and especially with what’s been happening in current events there couldn’t be a more appropriate time for this movie trailer to make its debut for this movie!  Also the families that are seen on film, can come in all shapes and sizes.

In order to celebrate family, 533 of my fellow bloggers have exclusively delivered this trailer online to our special, lucky readers. That means it won’t be debuting online anywhere but here on our sites first. Another cool thing? We all posted this at the EXACT. SAME. TIME! 😉

I personally loved this idea because I look at the blogging community as one big, giant, happy family who supports one another through thick and thin just like any family does. The friendships that have been formed, will last forever.

DELIVERY MAN stars Vince Vaughn, Cobie Smulders and Chris Pratt and will be in theaters November 22. If you watched the movie trailer already, then you probably have figured out that this movie is for adults and not small children. It’s rated PG-13 for mature themes.

So there you have it, 533 reasons to be excited to go see this movie come November! 533 children & 533 bloggers all have come together to show you what being a family is all about. 😉
